This enrollment marks a unique situation for Oxbridge Academy, as Barron will be the first student at the school accompanied by Secret Service agents. Siegfried assured that the Secret Service aims to have minimal impact on the school’s day-to-day operations, based on their previous experiences with the children of other former presidents. The Palm Beach Post reported that the Secret Service has been praised for its professionalism and ability to work seamlessly within educational settings.
The school’s administration has proactively communicated with parents about Barron’s enrollment. In an email, Ralph Mauer, the head of the school, informed parents that a small contingent of Secret Service agents would be present during each school day. He emphasized that they are working closely with the Secret Service to ensure that security measures are implemented smoothly and discreetly, with little disruption to students, faculty, or staff. So far, the feedback from parents has been positive.
Oxbridge Academy, founded in 2011 by billionaire Bill Koch, has a reputation for educating students from some of America’s most influential families. However, they have not previously had a student with a Secret Service detail. Before moving to Florida, Barron attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, breaking the tradition of presidential children attending Sidwell Friends, a prestigious Quaker school, per The List.
The decision to enroll Barron at Oxbridge Academy came after the family relocated to Florida following Trump’s defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
