President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, First Lady Jill Biden, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will gather in Atlanta next week to pay respects to Rosalynn Carter, the former first lady who passed away on Sunday at her home in Plains, Georgia.

Rosalynn Carter, remembered for her humanitarian efforts and advocacy for mental health, was 96. Her life and legacy will be celebrated in multiple events starting Monday, including a wreath-laying at her alma mater, Georgia Southwestern State University, and her lying in repose at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta.

As Reported by CNN, Tuesday’s events will feature a special tribute at Glenn Memorial Church at Emory University, with an exclusive guest list including former First Lady Laura Bush. The following day, a funeral service will be held at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, the Carters’ long-time church, followed by a private interment at the Carter residence.

The Biden administration has expressed its deep condolences, reflecting on the close relationship between the Bidens and the Carters. In a heartfelt statement, former President Jimmy Carter lauded Rosalynn as his lifelong partner, confidante, and source of love and support, marking their over 77-year marriage, a record among presidential couples.”
