Marley Biyendolo won 2021 Big Brother after beating out the final two housemates, Sarah ‘SJ’ Adams and Christina Poyoldan.
During the show, the 26-year-old basketballer was favorite for the title, and the Melbourne-born infirmity worker now goes home $250,000 richer.
In Tuesday night’s live grand finale, Marley’s won the title which took place despite some COVID restrictions. Many housemates couldn’t travel to Sydney for the finale but joined virtually.
“Due to the conditions, we couldn’t party together, and we had to wear masks backstage, unfortunately,” he said
“But I am sure when we can, we will have a big reunion and a celebration.”
Despite the passive celebrations, nothing could reduce Marley’s victory, he very closely used up when his name was read.
Marley said, “When Sonia read my name out, it just didn’t feel real; I thought I was going to faint.”
While Marley drives home with a huge amount of money, the same can’t be said for SJ and Christina.
At the start of the week, Marley wouldn’t be leaving for home unsuccessful if she won. So, has he carefully allotment some of the price money with his fellow finalists?
“I would love to do anything for SJ and Christina, nothing has been agreed beforehand or anything, but I would love to help them,” revealed Marley.
“I will be spoiling them one way or another at some point down the track – they’re just as deserving of winning Big Brother as I am, and I want to make sure they feel spoiled.”
Despite being commonly liked for his from top ethics, not everybody thought Marly was a man of his word.
In an interview with 7NEWS Ari requested that Marley had stepped back of a top-three deal the night before the final challenge.
“I saw the article so let me explain; towards the end of the game, Ari was scrambling around, and he was trying his infamous pinky promise to me,” said Marley.
“Due to the conditions, we couldn’t party together, and we had to wear masks backstage, unfortunately,” he said.
“But I am sure when we can, we will have a big reunion and a celebration.”
“When Sonia read my name out, it just didn’t feel real; I thought I was going to faint,” admitted Marley.
“It was a moment that I will cherish forever.”
“I ran into the Diary Room to talk to Big Brother and let him know that I was trying to avoid Ari; I even told Big Brother I couldn’t go through with the deal because I knew that if I won, I’d get rid of Ari.”
“Ari was scrambling for his life to lock in this top three pact, but honestly, it never went down; it was too little too late because I knew I couldn’t trust him.”
With emotions, Marley wanted to do was enjoy the win with his father, Clotaire.
“We had a few private moments, but there was so much energy and so many people, but I don’t think it’s hit us just yet,” said Marley.
Marley is planning to invest in his dad’s fashion business which has suffered financially over the last few years.
“He is so happy and grateful that I can help him, and I know my mum was just shining down on our last night.”
The Dandenong Rangers basketball player also called his girlfriend Lynn Williams, a professional soccer player in the United States.
“That was my most emotional phone call, Lynn has been so proud of me, and she was trying not to cry,” laughed Marley.
“I can’t thank her enough for what she has done for my family and me; she was up at 5 am [in the US]with her teammates to watch the finale, so that was amazing to have their support.”
