Davante Adams, the star wide receiver who transitioned from the Green Bay Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders, has expressed no regrets about his move, despite facing a challenging season with his new team. Adams, who was keen on reuniting with his college teammate Derek Carr, faced disappointment as the Raiders recorded a 6-11 season, leading to Carr being benched and subsequently cut.

During this period, the Raiders also experienced a change in head coaching, contributing to another losing season in 2023. Amidst these struggles, there was ongoing speculation about Adams’ future and the possibility of another trade.

Meanwhile, back in Green Bay, the Packers saw a resurgence under new quarterback Jordan Love, who stepped in following Aaron Rodgers’ departure. Under Love’s leadership, the Packers reached the divisional round of the playoffs, showcasing his capability as a starter.

Adams shared his thoughts on Love’s performance during an appearance on The Rush podcast with Raiders teammate Maxx Crosby. Reflecting on his decision to leave Green Bay, Adams admitted that he hadn’t seen enough of Love at that time to predict the success he would have. However, he has kept an eye on his former team and is impressed by Love’s development.

“In hindsight, like we talked about, the kid is a fucking baller, man. I’m so happy for him,” Adams remarked. He also expressed a desire to communicate his pride to Love personally, saying, “I haven’t had the chance to truly sit down and talk with him, but I want to tell him at some point ‘I definitely don’t regret changing, but I’m super proud of what you’ve done. If there was a way I could pull you over here and drag you with me that would have been cool too.’ Because, obviously, we saw what he did at the end of the year. I don’t regret what I did, but, at the same time, it’s definitely you look back on it like ‘damn that boy kind of balling right now.'”

As the Raiders look ahead to the 2024 season, they face uncertainty at the quarterback position, with Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell as the current options. Adams remains hopeful that the Raiders’ offense can ignite and replicate the success that Green Bay has found with Love. His journey reflects a blend of personal ambition and professional reflection, underscored by his acknowledgment of Love’s rise as a formidable quarterback in the NFL.
